Renovation: Swannanoa Valley Museum

Located in Downtown Black Mountain, this building is the original headquarters of the Black Mountain Fire Department.
The building was designed and built by Richard Sharp Smith, supervising architect of the Biltmore Estate. Restoration work done in 2008 was awarded a Griffin Award for exterior commercial restoration by The Preservation Society of Asheville and Buncombe County in 2009.
